Lady Falcons fall at Beresford

West Sioux’s girls’ basketball team struggled on offense and dropped a 53-28 decision to Beresford, S.D., there, in non-conference action on Jan. 7.

The Lady Falcons had a 3-6 record after the loss.

West Sioux’s Rylee Negaard and Amanda Mace shared scoring honors with 10 points each.

Negaard made 8-of-10 free throws to account for most of her points. She added five rebounds and the junior had six of the Falcons’ 12 steals.

Carly Dekkers led in rebounds with seven and Callie Schmidt had six.

The Beresford Lady Bulldogs led 11-3 after one quarter, 19-7 at halftime and 38-15 after three quarters.

Carly Dekkers: 4 points, 1-of-10 all field goal attempts, 2-of-4 free throw attempts, 7 rebounds, and 1 steal.

Margaret Jamtgaard: 0-of-1 field goal attempts, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals.

WS team totals: 28 points, 5-of-39 all field goal attempts, 0-of-4 three-point field goal attempts, 18-of-31 free throw attempts, 29 rebounds, 3 assists, 12 steals, and 2 blocked shots.
