Students graduate from Paramedic class

Twenty students graduated Feb. 22 after completing a year long Paramedic course at Avera McKennan School of Emergency Services in Sioux Falls. Three local students in the course were Joe Hook of Akron, Cathy Bushby and Payne Allen of Hawarden. Students attended lectures with regular testing, completed time in various areas of a hospital, and had to complete 320 hours of ride time with a Paramedic service. After graduation students still have to pass the national written test before becoming an official paramedic.
