Agnes Marie Trudeau went home on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at her home in Vermillion, S.D., at the age of 81 years, four months and 7 days. Memorial services were on Friday, May 30 at Alcester Baptist Church, Alcester, S.D. with Pastor Scott Connor officiating.

Agnes Meins was born January 15, 1933, in Akron to George J. and Edna M. (Jans) Meins. George died in November of 1942. Edna remarried Elmer Petty. Together they raised Edna’s four children and their daughter, Lyna.

Agnes married Theodore Miller in December of 1951. They had three sons. Agnes married Richard Trudeau in December of 1981.

She worked for families in the Akron area as a young woman. Agnes later worked in various nursing homes and at Zenith in Sioux City. In her later years, she cared for the elderly in their homes in the Elk Point area.

Agnes loved gardening, being outdoors and helping others. Her prized possession was her vast doll collection.

Survivors include her sons, Teddy (Sue) Miller of Alcester and Dennis (Cyndi) Miller of Springfield, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren, Jerard (Missy) Miller of Belgrade, Mont., Elizabeth (Travis) Goeden of Beresford, Russell (Lori) Miller of Beresford, Gary Miller of Lake Forest, Calif., Tammy Miller and Terri LaPointe of Sioux City, Iowa, Kevin Miller of Pierson, Iowa, Marie Miller of Chicago, Ill., Merle Miller and Bobbi Jo Miller of Portland, Ore., Patty Miller and Kasey Painter of Sioux City, Iowa; six step-grandchildren, Marie (Matt) Reese of Prairie Village, Kan., Jarrod (Tiffany) Kayser of Cambridge, Iowa, Luke Kayser and Brett Kayser of LeMars, Iowa, Tanya Unrine and Elliott Unrine of Springfield, Tenn.; many great-grandchildren, brother, Ernest (Doris) Petty of Elk Point; sisters, Phyllis Kamradt of Sioux City, Iowa and Lyna Wieberg of Alcester; several in-laws and her aunt, Evelyn Taggart of Vermillion.

Her parents, both husbands, son, Tim Miller, grandson, Nicholas Miller and sister, Mary Welch preceded her in death.
