Relay For Life of Union County is quickly approaching, and the planning committee is excited to once again help Relay participants Celebrate, Remember, and Fight Back!
This year’s event will be held at Carnes Stadium on the Beresford High School campus in Beresford, S.D., with registration beginning at 5 p.m. and the survivor lap at 6 p.m. This year’s event will conclude at midnight.
The theme for Relay 2014, “When you wish upon a star, a cure for cancer isn’t far,” will focus on children who have been affected by cancer. Teams are encouraged to decorate their “camps” and/or team gear according to their favorite Disney movie.
Participating in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, the world’s largest nonprofit fundraising event helps provide new opportunities to fight back against cancer, a deadly disease that will claim the lives of more than 560,000 people in America this year.
Relay For Life is a fund-raising event where participants will walk around the track relay-style to celebrate the lives of those who have had cancer and remember those lost. The team effort also gives participants the chance to fight back through advocacy.
You can be a part of the fight by participating in the Union County Relay For Life! All are welcome!
