West Sioux’s baseball team ended a five-game losing streak with a dominant performance against Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn-Remsen-Union in a War Eagle Conference clash June 20.
The Falcons had nine hits and two walks on the night Trevor Ericson and Justin Negaard led the way with two hits each.
Porter Hummel was the winning pitcher and of his 18 outs, 13 were strikeouts. MCC-RU got three hits and one walk. Kezden Blankenship pitched for one inning and struck out two, giving West Sioux hurlers 15 strikeouts.
The Falcons improved to a 6-7 record on the season.
Ericson was 2-for-3 with one run scored, one RBI and one wall.
Negaard was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, one stolen base and one walk.
Justin Stoltenburg was 1-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI.
Blankenship was 1-for-3 with two runs scored.
Jesus Rivera was 1-for-4 with one RBI.
Jake Lynott was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and one stolen base.
Hummel scored one run.
