Lady Falcons gain fourth win

West Sioux’s softball team gained its fourth win of the season by edging South O’Brien, 3-2, in a War Eagle Conference game on a chilly night in Ireton July 1.

West Sioux took a 2-1 lead over the Paullina-based team after one inning and added the winning run in the third. The Lady Falcons had a 4-18 record after the win.

Amanda Mace led the offense with a 2-for-2 game with one run scored, two stolen bases and one walk.

Lady Falcons’ statistics

Jenna Rehder was 1-for-3 with one run scored, one RBI, and one stolen base.

Rylee Negaard contributed two walks, scored two runs and had two stolen bases.

Dana Schipper had one RBI and one walk.

Josie McKee was 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Calena Topete was 1-for-3.

The Lady Falcons had five hits, five stolen bases and four walks.

Carly Dekkers gained the pitching win in the pitching circle as she allowed only four hits, no walks and struck out three.
