WS bats sting Harris-Lake Park for league win

West Sioux had the offense going in high gear as the Falcons registered 12 hits and five walks in a 9-3 War Eagle Conference win over Harris Lake Park July 2. The Falcons’ offense was spread out as four players had two hits in the home win.

Winning pitcher senior Jesus Rivera struck out 10 HLP hitters and give up just six hits and two walks in six innings. Tucker Vander Feen worked the final inning and had one strikeout.

West Sioux led 7-1 after three innings.

WS reached a goal for the season as it had achieved a .500 record, 9-9.

Falcons statistics

Rivera was 1-for-3 hitting with one stolen base and one walk.

Blankenship had one RBI and one walk.

Porter Hummel was 2-for-4 with one run scored and one stolen base.

Justin Negaard was 2-for-4 with one double and 2 RBIs.

Jake Lynott was 2-for-3 with 3 runs scored, 2 stolen bases and one walk.

Justin Stolenburg was 1-for-1 with two runs scored and one walk.

Zach Hulshof was 1-for-1.
