UC’s offense downs Falcons in loop finale

West Sioux’s softball team concluded the regular season with a 17-4 loss to Orange City Unity Christian in a War Eagle Conference contest in Ireton July 3.

The Lady Knights, who also have Hawarden and Ireton players, led 8-3 after four innings and added nine runs in their final two at-bats.

The Lady Falcons scored single runs in he first, second, third and seventh innings. WS finished the regular season with a 5-20 record.

Junior catcher Rylee Negaard had a 3-for-3 game with two doubles, one RBI and one walk.

Amanda Mace was 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Dana Schipper was 1-for-4 with one run scored and one stolen base.

Josie McKee had two walks.

Alyson Westra was 1-for-3 with one run scored.

Abie Ericson had two walks.

West Sioux had seven hits, two stolen bases and eight walks.

Senior Carly Dekkers, honored on Parents Night, suffered the loss in the circle. She struck out two Lady Knights.
