Plymouth County Board of Supervisors JUNE 25, 2024 LE MARS, IOWA

The Plymouth County Board of Supervisors met in the Courthouse Boardroom on June 25, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. All members were present. Chairman Don Kass called the meeting to order. All votes following are a roll call vote of an aye per each board member, unless otherwise indicated. The pledge of allegiance was recited.

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Meis, to approve the 6/25/2024 agenda. Motion Carried.

AKRON CARE CENTER MINUTES OF THE MONTHLY BOARD MEETING JUNE 18, 2024 5:15 P.M.

 

The Akron Care Center Board met Tuesday June 18, 2024, at 5:15 p.m., at the Akron Care Center.

In attendance were Jeff Morehead, Diane Von Hagel, Angela Auchstetter, Carrie Wilken, Steve Lawson, and Jessica Pick.

President Jeff Morehead called the meeting to order at 5:15.

Members read the minutes from the previous meeting and Diane made a motion to approve, seconded by Carrie Wilken. Ayes 4, Nays, 0. Motion carried.

Softball wins first postseason game, falls in semifinal

Akron-Westfield softball team won its opening round of postseason action at home July 9 against Trinity Christian winning 10-4 with a homerun by Lainey Schuknecht in the fifth. Next up, A-W traveled to Fonda July 12 to face Newell-Fonda falling to the Mustangs, 4-0, to end their season.

A-W baseball: District champions!

The Akron-Westfield baseball team is having a great post-season thus far. The Westerners won their first game in playoffs against Harris-Lake Park, 7-4, July 10 and then defeated Gehlen Catholic, 8-3, July 13 in the district championship, both at home. Team members received medals for being Class 1A District 1 champions.

Allison Nixa receives merit-based scholarship

Akron-Westfield graduate Allison Nixa was one of 21 students to receive a merit-based scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year from the The Tower Family Foundation.
