Apiculture is the science of raising or maintaining colonies of bees and their hives. It may come as a surprise to many that the United States Government formally recognizes beekeeping as a legitimate agricultural practice and that beekeepers are considered farmers.

On Oct. 18, a Polio survivor, Carole Heider, visited the fourth grade Akron-Westfield class to share her story of fighting the illness when she was a child.

Eva Chapman, a mother of three, first opened her business, Still So Loved, in 2017. At first, Chapman sold handmade baby clothes, but pivoted to hand-drawn art pieces. She added, "I opened my business after the stillbirth of our daughter in Jan. 2017, it gave me back a purpose and joy. I named it Still So Loved, because she is 'still so loved.'"
