Cael Morrow, Ian Blowe and Jayden Friedrichs have had storied careers so far with the Akron-Westfield wrestling program.

Akron-Westfield senior wrestler Ian Blowe achieved a milestone at the Sgt. Bluff wrestling tournament Dec. 2 by achieving his 100th win. One hundred wins is a benchmark of excellence in high school wrestling. Ian wrestled at 190 and was runner-up at the tournament.

The Akron Care Center board held a special meeting Nov. 28 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home to discuss the assisted living project. Since an action item was not on the agenda, the board could not take official action but just have a discussion.

Theresa “Tess” Buryanek of Westfield, Iowa passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at home surrounded by family.
