The Akron-Westfield (A-W) School Board is currently reviewing and updating its policies. Many of these changes are in response to new federal and state laws.

During their Nov. 20 meeting, the Care Center’s Board of Directors appointed Tara Netley as the facility’s provisional administrator. Netley takes over for Business Office Manager Toria Steffen, who had been acting as the Care Center’s designated “responsible party.”

The Akron Police Department recently hired Josh Armstrong. Originally from Sioux City, Armstrong moved to Westfield when he was 10 and has been in the area ever since. He is a 2019 graduate of Akron-Westfield High School.

Rachel Harris and Kailee Tucker have come full circle.

Their stories may not be identical, but the themes are certainly similar.

Harris and Tucker both enjoyed tremendous success as athletes at Akron-Westfield. They also were positively influenced by some amazing teachers and coaches along the way which is part of the reason both are back “home”, teaching and leading the next generation at A-W.
