Akron-Westfield quarterback Laytin Koch had hot hands and hot receivers at home Sept. 15 against Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn. This all added up to a 36-8 win over HMS. Koch had an outstanding night throwing the ball. He was 10 for 10 for 280 yards and five touchdowns.
Akron-Westfield traveled over hill and dale and around a couple of bends to play the Hinton Blackhawks Sept. 8. Hinton, a friendly, old nemesis is always up to a tough game. A-W came out on top for the 20-13 win.
